VPN software is similar to adblockers in that many of them are almost as annoying as the problem they’re trying to solve, with in-app adverts for different subscription plans, emails about upgrades and expiration dates, inescapable podcast ads, and so on. Mullvad VPN is the rare exception. Unlike most other services, you don’t even need to register for an account with them, and they both support and encourage anonymous payment methods like crypto. It’s also easy to use and fairly inexpensive at 5€ per month. What’s not to like?
