Audioengine A2+ w/Bluetooth Review

If you care at all about audio quality, the difference between having no external speakers and having any at all is huge – especially if you’re currently using the speakers on your laptop. I don’t know enough about audio gear to compare the Audioengine A2+ with the many other desk speakers that are out there, but they are one of the better reviewed options in their price range. Their appearance also played a large part in why I picked them over other similar speakers.

The A2+ are easy to fit even on a small desk with their footprint of 15.6 x 10.6 cm x 13.8 cm, and they produce an impressively loud and clear sound for their size. I pair them with Kanto S2 desk speaker holders to raise them up a bit and angle them up towards me. I’m considering getting the Audioengine S8 subwoofer to place under my desk as well, since the bass on the A2+ is as strong as can be expected from speakers their size.

I have the Audioengine A2+ hooked up via USB C to my Caldigit Thunderbolt 4 Pro dock, which in turn is connected to my laptop via a single USB C-cable when I’m at my desk. It’s a great setup if you’re a laptop user, since the speakers are connected automatically as soon as you plug your laptop into the dock for charging.
