When the Chicago Sun-Times laid off its entire photo staff last year, I commented that one of the problems was the utter failure of website design to appropriately showcase photography. Above is an example of the current design and the way photography is displayed.
The only image that appears “above the fold” is a staggering 306 pixels wide.
Intressant läsning med många skräckexempel. Aftonbladet är ett av mycket få exempel på svenska nyhetssajter som har artiklar med bilder bredare än 800 pixlar. SvD, DN och SVT toppar alla runt 650-700 pixlar. Gävletidningarna Arbetarbladet och Gefle Dagblad har 468 pixlar breda bilder i artiklarna.
