Back from WordCamp Stockholm 2016

Last week, me and the rest of the Odd Alice crew joined up with 200 or so other WordPress developers for WordCamp Stockholm 2016.

We spent the day giving and listening to talks, making and meeting friends and trying Virtual Reality for the first time (I’m sold). There were a lot of great talks during the day, most of them in English and all of them available on the WordCamp Stockholm website. Take an hour or two out of your day and check them out. I’m working my way through the ones I missed last week as I’m writing this.

All of them are worth your time, but two of my favorite ones are Noel Tocks talk “Moving forward in WordPress” and Mike Selanders talk about code reviews. Also, I am of course a bit partial to the videos with colleagues of mine. Mattias had a great talk (in English) about using the WordPress REST API and React, which gives a good overview of some of the cool stuff that’s been happening at the Odd Alice offices in the past year. Thord moderated the panel discussion (in Swedish, sadly).

Overall, it was a terrific conference. Awesome talks, lot’s of fun people attending and a good production overall. It was great to get to meet some of the people from the Swedish WordPress community in person, not to mention having almost everyone working at Odd Alice in one place at the same time. I’m already looking forward to next year.
